Hello, VantageScorers:

Last week, Rocket Mortgage and Rocket Pro officially began utilizing VantageScore 4.0 in their mortgage qualification processes. The largest mortgage lender in the United States, Rocket has now implemented VantageScore 4.0 credit scores across both their retail and third-party mortgage origination channels.

Rocket’s adoption of VantageScore 4.0 into its existing client- and mortgage-broker-facing experiences reinforces a shared commitment with VantageScore to create millions more creditworthy homeowners in the United States. The rollout comes after the FHFA permitted loans underwritten with VantageScore 4.0 to be delivered to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Along with organizations like United Wholesale Mortgage and NewRez, which recently announced support for VantageScore on select conventional loans, Rocket joins a growing group of top lenders embracing VantageScore.

The adoption of VantageScore 4.0 by one of the nation’s leading mortgage lenders underscores the industry’s acceleration towards more predictive and inclusive credit-scoring models. VantageScore 4.0 helps lenders manage risk and reach more creditworthy borrowers by incorporating alternative and trended credit data, significantly advancing consumer credit scoring and expanding access to housing finance.

Special thanks go to Dr. Rikard Bandebo, Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Economist; Jeff Richardson, Chief Marketing Officer; Tony Hutchinson, Head of Public Affairs; and Jason Jefferies, Director of Mortgage Client Success; for spearheading the relationship with Rocket Mortgage to diversify credit scoring in the housing market.
